Located in Fincastle, VA

This is our story.

It started when a couple met the family that moved in next door.

The family had six children, and moved from the city to the country to get some fresh air and start a small farm, and that’s exactly what they did. They did need to borrow tools and the expertise of the couple at the start, but they did the same for the couple. Soon, they were processing chickens and deer. This helped both households, since they were supplying their own food.

However, with the pandemic going on, the world outside was still chaotic with everyone clearing the shelves of food. The family and the couple knew what they needed to do. So after many weeks and many helping hands later - a greenhouse was built. This project helped them become a small farmstead that continued to grow project after project they worked on together, such as fencing in goats, planting a garden, building an art barn, home remolding, handmade soap and candles, baked goods, and so much more.

Today, they are selling most of the handmade products they make. They also give tours and teachings of their farm so that others can learn from their successes and failures in being self-sufficient.
